What is LipoSculpt & How Does It Work?
At The LipoDissolve Center of Myrtle Beach, our signature, non-surgical LipoSculpt treatment is a combination of our exclusive LipoDissolve procedure and Med Sculpt state of the art laser technology.
LipoDissolve is a pharmaceutical compound called phosphatidylcholine deoxycholate, or PCDC, which is administered through a series of micro-injections to permanently dissolve the fat. Our clinicians use a highly advanced technique that is exclusive to the Southeast. Where most clinics will require 6-8 visits to achieve the desired results, we typically see patients 3-4 times to achieve the same result.
Over time, fat cells expand where we least want them, around our middle, the buttocks, thighs, arms, or chin. To dissolve these pockets of fat, PCDC micro-injections are delivered into the targeted treatment areas. The fat cells absorb the PCDC and become slightly inflamed, then harden. The Med Sculpt is used between treatments to break down the hardened fat cells leading to measurable inch loss.
At this point, the fat cell no longer exists and has been permanently removed from the body. With multiple treatments, the end result is a smooth, natural look in the area that is treated.
The Med Sculpt laser is a combination of ultrasound and elastomeric massage that speeds up the recovery between LipoDissolve treatments, increases the fat loss, and dramatically reduces cellulite in the treated area. Ultrasound is used to control the distribution of PCDC to the targeted area and elastomeric massage is used to treat the nodules produced by LipoDissolve treatment to speed up the recovery process between treatments. Additionally, the Med Sculpt is FDA approved for the treatment of cellulite.
How Safe Is LipoSculpt?
PCDC has been used in various medical applications since the 1950s and has been utilized for cosmetic purposes since the mid 90s. All of the treatments have been administered under closely monitored conditions with excellent clinical follow-up. No significant adverse affects attributable to the PCDC injections have been identified. In addition, the Med Sculpt laser is FDA approved and has an excellent safety record when used by trained professional like those at the LipoDissolve Center of Myrtle Beach.
Who will be administering my LipoSculpt?
Dr. Maria Baens is certified in the LipoDissolve procedure by the International Meso-Lipo Therapy Society. She was trained by Dr. Roman Chubatay, the president of the IMLS as well as Diane Duncan, plastic surgeon, and world renouned expert and instructor in Injection Lipolysis. Dr. Baens’s is a standing member of the IMLS and is listed as a certified and credentialed provider of the LipoDissolve procedure. The LipoDissolve Center of Myrtle Beach maintains the highest standards and has implemented specific treatment protocols to deliver the best results for our patients.
Prior to and after your LipoDissolve treatments, your Med Sculpt procedure will be administered by one of our trained medical staff.
How many treatments does LipoSculpt take and how often can I get them?
Each patient's anatomy and physiology dictate different treatment regimens. Our medical staff will customize a program for you at the time of your free and confidential consultation.
You will typically have to wait at least two to four weeks between each treatment. Depending on your body type and physiology, the medical person treating you may recommend waiting a longer period of time between treatments.
I am a busy person. How long will it take?
LipoSculpt is a non-invasive procedure. Unlike plastic surgery, there is no anesthesia, no surgery, and minimal downtime. Treatments take less than an hour, that's why people call it "lunchtime lipo."
Are all LipoDissolve formulas the same?
No. This is very important. The LipoDissolve Center of Myrtle Beach uses a proprietary formula that is different than 95% of the other providers across the country and in the Southeast. Our formula is available to us only because of our advanced training. It is a more potent formula that, when combined with our more advanced technique, allows us to achieve results in half the time as other providers.
How is LipoSculpt different from other providers offering LipoDissolve?
The first primary difference is in the LipoDissolve procedure itself. A common misconception is that LipoDissolve is the same, regardless of the provider. There could be nothing further from the truth. The technique ( spacing and depth of injections ), the formulation ( not all lipo dissolve formulas are the same ), and the provider, all impact the outcome of the procedure. Dr. Baens and Carolyn Stewart, FNP, have trained with nationally recognized thought leaders in this procedure, have access to a proprietary LipoDissolve formula, and know the most state of the art techniques in body contouring.
The second difference is the combination use of state of the art Med Sculpt technology. When used in conjunction with LipoDissolve, the Med Sculpt speeds up the recovery between LipoDissolve treatments, increases the fat loss, and dramatically reduces cellulite in the treated area.
Choosing a Provider for LipoSculpt
When choosing a provider for the LipoDissolve procedure, please consider the following and do not be afraid to ask these questions.
What is your training is this procedure?
How long have you been doing this procedure and how many have you done?
Is all of your staff certified by the provider of the procedure and/or equipment used in the procedure?
Many providers will offer LipoDissolve with little training and entice the customer with deeply discounted pricing. You are often trading expertise and knowledge for a less expensive alternative. Strongly consider if this is the best choice for a procedure that is permanent and will impact your face and/or body for a lifetime. We will promise to treat you with the most state of the art techniques and highly trained medical professionals! |
